The 7 metre flower cloud was made with the Education Team led by Melissa O’Brien at the Botanic Gardens in the Visitor Centre for the Christmas period as a more sustainable alternative to the traditional wreaths.
Almost all the plant material used was collected from the gardens itself over a period of a month and dried on site. Plant material included pampas grass, cornus, hydrangea, amaranthus, bunny tails, globe artichokes, contorted hazel and came from the herbaceous border, the grass garden, the semi circular beds, the organic fruit and veg garden, the family beds, the hydrangea beds, and the river walk.
